Gianduja is a delicious blend of world renowned Piedmont hazelnut paste and creamy milk chocolate. They are blended together and formed into triangular bite-sized pieces. Venchi's recreation of this classic does not disappoint and remains an European favorite.
The origin of this delectable treat goes back to the Napoleonic wars. A British naval blockade created a scarcity of cocoa. The chocolate makers tried to alleviate the problem by grinding famous, fine quality, Piedmont hazelnuts into a paste and mixing it with the cocoa. It's been a European favorite ever since.
